Microsoft Clarity for Mobile Apps

This Application uses Microsoft Clarity for Mobile Apps to understand how Users interact with the app and to improve the app experience. Clarity helps generate session replays, heatmaps and usability insights from app interaction data.

Clarity for Mobile Apps may collect:

- device type, brand and model
- app name and app version
- operating system and OS version
- display type and screen size
- taps, gestures and other app interactions
- app display layout
- application errors and exceptions
- country/region
- Usage Data

Clarity for Mobile Apps does not screenshot or video record user activity. Sessions are reconstructed from interaction and layout data. Microsoft states that personal information is automatically sanitized by the Clarity SDK.

Clarity for Mobile Apps transmits data off the device to power its dashboard, session replay and heatmap features. Data is encrypted in transit using Transport Layer Security (TLS).

Microsoft states that Clarity processes data in compliance with GDPR and CCPA as a data controller. For details, see:

Controls and restrictions used by the Owner:

- Clarity is not active for Users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland.
- Sensitive screens, including login, payment, personal information, prayer, notes and chat screens, are excluded from Clarity session collection.
- The Owner does not link Clarity session data to user accounts or device identifiers.
- Microsoft Clarity should not be enabled in any app experience directed to users under the age of 18.

Retention and deletion:

Clarity recordings are retained for the Owner's use for up to 30 days from the time of recording. Project administrators may request deletion through Clarity Support. Microsoft Clarity does not support deletion of a specific user's individual session data; deleting Clarity data for a specific user requires deleting the entire Clarity project.


Mode and place of processing

The Owner takes appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorized access, disclosure, modification or destruction of Personal Data.

Data processing is carried out using computers and IT-enabled tools, following organizational procedures related to the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

In addition to the Owner, Data may be accessible to persons involved with the operation of this Application, such as administration, sales, marketing, legal, system administration, or external parties such as hosting providers, IT companies, communications agencies and third-party technical service providers. The updated list of these parties may be requested from the Owner at any time.

Depending on the User's location, Data transfers may involve transferring Data to a country other than the User's own country.


Retention time

Unless specified otherwise in this document, Personal Data is processed and stored for as long as required by the purpose for which it was collected and may be retained longer where required by law or based on the User's consent.


User rights

Depending on the User's location, Users may have the right to:

- withdraw consent at any time
- object to processing of their Data
- access their Data
- verify and seek correction of their Data
- restrict the processing of their Data
- have their Personal Data deleted or otherwise removed
- receive their Data and have it transferred to another controller, where technically feasible

Third parties may include AppsFlyer Ltd, Facebook, Inc., Google LLC, Meta Platforms, Inc., MoPub Inc., AppLovin Corporation, Apple Inc., Amazon Web Services, Inc. and Microsoft Corporation.

For Clarity-related deletion requests, Microsoft Clarity supports project-level deletion. Per-user and per-session deletion is not available through Clarity.

California residents may also have the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of Personal Information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and the right to limit the use or disclosure of Sensitive Personal Information where required by law. This Application does not sell Personal Information for monetary compensation. Some advertising, analytics and tracking activities may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under California law. Users may limit tracking and analytics through device-level advertising settings, app privacy settings, platform privacy controls, or by contacting the Owner. If a browser or device sends a Global Privacy Control signal and this Application can detect it in the relevant context, the Owner will treat it as an opt-out request where required by law.

To process privacy requests, the Owner may request information reasonably necessary to verify the identity of the requester or the authority of an authorized agent. Information collected for verification will be used only to verify and respond to the request. Users do not need to create an account to submit a privacy request.

The Owner will not discriminate against Users for exercising privacy rights. This means the Owner will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level or quality of service because a User exercised rights available under applicable privacy law, except where permitted by law.

California residents may request information about third parties to whom certain categories of Personal Information were disclosed for direct marketing purposes in the previous calendar year. Information for Brazilian Users

Brazilian Users may exercise rights under the Lei Geral de Protecao de Dados (LGPD), including confirmation of processing, access, correction, anonymization, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive Data, portability where available, information about sharing, withdrawal of consent and review of decisions based solely on automated processing.

This Application is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. Microsoft Clarity should not be used on websites or apps targeting users under the age of 18.


Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Owner may update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the updated version on this page and, where technically and legally feasible, notifying Users through this Application or through contact information available to the Owner.
